A $13m beachfront Balmoral residence is now off the housing market after being bought by bookmaker Tom Waterhouse, two weeks after its listing.
It originally listed for $11m in October. The month after, purchase rumours began after nearby beachfront diners advised sighting the young Waterhouse heading into the property sold by the Woods family.
Settlement papers were filed last week. The financing came from ANZ, along with second mortgage finance from TW Securities.
Waterhouse is the fourth generation of Australia's most famous bookmaking family. His wife Hoda had their first child daughter in 2013, making them in need of suitable accommodation. They also own another beachside duplex apartment that cost $3.5m in 2008.
