The most popular suburb in NSW has been named in a recent Top Sellers’ Markets report, according to realestate.com.au.
Engadine in southern Sydney has earned top spot, after beating Cherrybrook and Bella Vista.
Cherrybrook was number one last quarter but went down to second this quarter. Engadine placed third then.
This quarter also welcomes newcomers St Clair, Menai, Glenhaven and Cammeray to the top 10 list.
Engadine, which is a short 15 minute drive to Stanwell Park and the popular Cronulla beach, has been attracting increasing numbers of buyers over the past year. Just last year, it was sitting at 10th spot.
“Engadine is coming of age into an established market which is why there has been huge demand for properties here,” said Geoff Luby of Ray White.
“Properties in the Shire are always popular. The prices of property east of the Shire have gone up so people are searching for more affordable areas within this popular spot. Engadine offers the same lifestyle opportunities as the eastern parts of the Shire and is also close to the beach while surrounded by national parklands,” Luby said.
The report added that Engadine attracts a large family demographic who find the close proximity to shopping strips, local parks and beaches suits their lifestyle needs.
