Online lender loans.com.au has unveiled what could be the lowest green home loan rate in the market, a huge win for many Australians who are opting for a more energy-efficient home.
loans.com.au reduced its rate for its Green Home Loan to 1.88% p.a. (2.30% p.a. comparison rate).
The lender’s Green Construction Loan also bears an interest rate of 1.88% p.a. (2.33% p.a. comparison rate) while its Green Construction Investor loan has a rate of 2.39% p.a. (2.84% p.a. comparison rate).
To qualify for these loans, borrowers need to present their properties’ 7-star NatHERS rating from an accredited assessor.
loans.com.au managing director Marie Mortimer said these discounted rates will help environmentally supportive Australian borrowers save thousands of dollars.
“The savings you get on your home loan by choosing to go green could easily cover any costs of opting for an environmentally friendly home,” Ms Mortimer said.
