Suncorp Bank was, until a 2024 acquisition by ANZ, the banking arm of the Suncorp Group - one of Australia's largest financial service providers. Based in Brisbane (and the current namesake of the iconic Lang Park stadium), Suncorp remains one of Australia's ten largest home loan lenders, with a loan book of more than $50 billion as of June 2025.
You might find Suncorp a good fit for your home loan needs if you:
Are looking for competitive rates outside the big four: Suncorp tends to have competitive rates compared to the rest of the mortgage market. For now, it is still operating distinct from ANZ, so rates at Suncorp are different from its parent.
Want several flexible loan options: Suncorp has a few different home loan options:
Back to basics home loan: Suncorp's basic variable option. Allows unlimited extra repayments, redraw and has no account keeping or establishment fees (for loans over $150,000).
Standard Variable home loan: Includes a linked offset account. Customers can link their loan with an Everyday Options transaction account - since this allows for up to nine sub accounts, this effectively allows up to nine offset accounts.
Suncorp fixed home loan: Suncorp offers one, two, three and five year fixed terms.
Prefer in-person support, especially in Queensland: Unsurprisingly given its Queensland origins, most Suncorp branches are in Brisbane. There are 25 Suncorp branches in Brisbane and the surrounding area as of June 2025. There're a further ten in New South Wales (six in Sydney) and individual branches in Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Are interested in packaged offers: Suncorp home loan customers may be able to take advantage of its Better Together offer. If you combine a Back to Basics home loan with an Everyday Options transaction account, you qualify for a discounted interest rate and waived loan establishment and account keeping fees. There are also offers available that could mean discounts on other financial products - insurance premiums for example.
Are a medical professional seeking to avoid LMI: Suncorp offer exemptions on Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) for registered medical practitioners. LMI premiums can be thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars, so these exemptions could have a big impact.
Want personalised guidance from local loan experts: It also employs an extensive array of 'home loan experts' for each state and territory. These experts each look after a specialist area and their contact details are available on the Suncorp website. You can get in touch directly for help with your loan.
