The Mac (formerly the Clutha Employees Credit Union) is a credit union based in the NSW region of Macarthur which has been operating since 1971. It was created to provide financial services and products to local employees of the Clutha coal mines in Camden, and then expanded to serve the needs of the Macarthur community in 1978 when it became Macarthur Credit Union, and 38 years later became The Mac.
Since The Mac is a credit union, it is owned by members and not shareholders. This enables the institution to invest its profits back into delivering better rates, products and services for its members.
With four local branches at Camden, Narellan, Picton and Tahmoor, The Mac continues to exist for the benefit of its members and the local community. In addition to these branches, The Mac also has a 24/7 online banking service, email, an online enquiry form, and phone consultations and queries available Monday to Friday within business hours. You can also write to The Mac at its Camden office.
