Important Information and Comparison Rate Warning

Base criteria of: a $400,000 loan amount, variable, fixed, principal and interest (P&I) home loans with an LVR (loan-to-value) ratio of at least 80%. However, the ‘Compare Home Loans’ table allows for calculations to be made on variables as selected and input by the user. Some products will be marked as promoted, featured or sponsored and may appear prominently in the tables regardless of their attributes. All products will list the LVR with the product and rate which are clearly published on the product provider’s website. Monthly repayments, once the base criteria are altered by the user, will be based on the selected products’ advertised rates and determined by the loan amount, repayment type, loan term and LVR as input by the user/you. *The Comparison rate is based on a $150,000 loan over 25 years. Warning: this comparison rate is true only for this example and may not include all fees and charges. Different terms, fees or other loan amounts might result in a different comparison rate. Northern Inland Credit Union is a member-owned mutual financial institution that aims to find smarter ways for its members to manage their finances.

The merger of three credit unions – Namoi Credit Union, Oxley Mutual Credit Union and Tamworth Community Credit Union – saw the emergence of Northern Inland in 1988.

As a locally owned and operated credit union, with its head office in Tamworth, Northern Inland has the ability to tailor its offerings direct to the people of Northern Inland, NSW. All decisions are made right here by a team of some 40 staff members. Aside from its head office, it has branches in West Tamworth, Gunnedah, and Narrabri.

Northern Inland is committed to engaging local businesses wherever possible and is a strong supporter of community groups through its sponsorship program. Through this program, it has been providing assistance to local community organisations, clubs and events.

Northern Inland offers a range of banking products, including home loans, personal loans, credit cards, everyday banking products, savings and investment accounts, and insurance products.

In terms of home loans, Northern Inland differs from other credit unions. On top of its five home loan products, it also offers three home loan packages. These comprehensive solutions are suited to all prospective buyers, whether it is for a first purchase, refinancing of an existing home loan or making an investment in one or more properties.

Some of the features of its home loans include the ability to make extra repayments, free redraws, flexible repayment schedule, and low deposit.

To apply for a mortgage with Northern Inland Credit Union, you will need to either call and set up an appointment or fill out an online enquiry form to have a representative call you. You do not need to be a member at this point, but you will need to become one before actually taking out the loan – which means visiting a branch with your ID and buying a member share for $10.

In the first step of applying, you will just need your personal details and select a preferred branch, but later on, make sure you have details at hand, such as:

  • Your employment and salary details
  • Details of debts, assets and living expenses
  • Information on the property you are buying
