According to the Australian Mortgage Snapshot Study 2013,
83 per cent of Australians base their decision on interest rates when it comes to choosing a lender. As already mentioned, many smaller non-bank lenders are able to offer lower interest rates as they do not have the extra costs of maintaining an expensive branch network.
