Fernvale’s housing growth appears to be taking off, as more shops, sports facilities and the delivery of the long-awaited Blacksoil Interchange are benefiting the local area. This suburb is located 60 kilometres west of Brisbane and had a population of 2,367, according to the most recent ABS census.

Moreover, Fernvale has sealed its 300th sale last January, reports The Queensland Times. The developer believes people have been enticed to the growing convenience of the area, as many new retailers and service providers have emerged.

"Fernvale has a real sense of community built on many generations," estate manager Jarod Herden said.

"We have helped harness this same sense of community within the estate by providing a very good quality development that has attracted residents from all over Australia wanting a village lifestyle within an urban setting.

In the past six years, Fernvale has seen the opening of the local Fernvale Village shopping centre which features Woolworths, Reject Shop, Subway and a Sushi Bar among others.

"The indoor sporting centre has also opened with more sporting fields planned, and the recent completion of the Blacksoil Interchange has helped make Fernvale more accessible to new residents,” he said.
