A $2bn project in NSW called The Ponds has now sold out after seven years, with the last land plot purchased this week.

The UrbanGrowth NSW and Australand project was spearheaded in 2003 with over 4,200 home sites across north-west Sydney.

News from the Property Observer said the project included 80 hectares of bushlands and waterways, and six kilometres of bicycle and walk ways, as envisioned by development director Jey Mahendra.

“Eleven years later this vision has been achieved. It is estimated over 12,400 residents will call The Ponds home when the last remaining homes are built in 2015,” said Mahendra.

Detached and attached homes, terraces houses and courtyard homes are included in the project covered under the Blacktown City Council area.

Also slated for 2015 are retail and shopping centre amenities, the completion of Peel Reserve Park, and two schools.
